Proxmox VMs
in FeatherPanel.
FeatherPanel sits on your Proxmox nodes. Clients get a self-service portal; you get automated provisioning. The hypervisor stays Proxmox.
FeatherPanel is a management layer, not a hypervisor. Your Proxmox nodes stay unchanged. FeatherPanel adds the client portal, billing hooks, and automation on top.
What FeatherPanel Adds
What Proxmox leaves
to the panel layer.
Proxmox is a strong hypervisor. It does not ship a client portal, automated retail provisioning, or billing. That is what FeatherPanel adds.
Proxmox frontend
FeatherPanel sits on your existing Proxmox nodes and adds a client-facing control panel without replacing the hypervisor.
Client self-service
End users get a scoped dashboard to start, stop, reboot, and reinstall their VMs without raw Proxmox access.
Automated provisioning
New VPS orders can provision in under 5 seconds. Templates, OS images, and resource limits are applied from the panel.
Credential isolation
XChaCha20 encryption, CSRF protection, 2FA, and audit logging. Proxmox credentials stay off client-facing surfaces.
Snapshots and backups
VM snapshots and scheduled backup policies in the panel. Clients can manage restore points themselves.
Same panel as game and web
Proxmox VMs, game servers, and web hosting share one login and one UI.
Performance
Resource use and
license cost.
Benchmarks measured against Convoy v3 and Virtualizor 7.x on equivalent hardware under comparable load.
No per-node license fee
Convoy charges $6/node/month for commercial use. Virtualizor charges $9+/month. FeatherPanel is AGPL-3.0 with no per-node fees.
Game and web in the same panel
Convoy and Virtualizor manage VPS only. FeatherPanel also manages game servers and web hosting from one UI.
Live Proxmox API
FeatherPanel uses the Proxmox API for state. Node changes show up without a slow polling loop.

No. FeatherPanel is a management layer on top of Proxmox. Your nodes keep running KVM and LXC. FeatherPanel adds a client portal, automated provisioning, self-service VM management, and billing hooks.
You add Proxmox API credentials once. FeatherPanel then creates VMs, manages LXC containers, takes snapshots, and monitors resources through the Proxmox API.
Convoy is a Proxmox panel under a Business Source License ($6/node/month for commercial use). FeatherPanel is AGPL-3.0 and free. FeatherPanel also manages game servers and web hosting in the same panel; Convoy does not.
Virtualizor is a paid multi-hypervisor panel ($9+/month) with deep WHMCS integration. FeatherPanel is free and open-source, and also covers game servers and websites in the same UI.
Yes. End users get a scoped portal to start, stop, reboot, and reinstall assigned VMs, view usage, open a console, and manage backups without raw Proxmox access.
Yes. FeatherPanel supports automated provisioning for VPS orders. Cloud customers can use built-in billing. Self-hosted users can integrate WHMCS or other systems via the REST API.
